    Florida Resale Certificate – We need to get it to the wholesalers. Eddie Soler took one to Andrea’s. Eddie Steinman needs a copy to take to All Seas.

    Membership:

    Lourdes will work with Alan to design the new 2017 membership cards.

    Lourdes is going to make a design this weekend and send it out to the BOD for approval.

    Elections committee: 

    UPDATE-  Julio and Allen will be the elections committee from the BoD. Julio and Allen need to talk with Johnny.

    Gayle will look into a more central location for future board meetings.

    Tank Hop: Tank Hop was excellent – the fish tanks were jaw-dropping. About 23-25 people

    Aquarimania Committee Report:

    We’ve decided to cancel Aquarimania.  UPDATE: they will be refunding our money, but they had our PO box address wrong.

    OPEN DISCUSSION:

    We need to find a place for the holiday party. Eddie Soler has been trying to reach the woman who is the new contact for the Davie’s womens club, but she has not been answering or returning his calls.

    • Lulio will ask about his church
    • Renee will call a bunch of places this week

    Dave is dealing with a lot of issues with the school. The guy who was supposed to be building the stand for the tank is not responding. Also, Cary needs to buy about 15 LED lights for the school.

    Aquarimania Committee Report:

    We need to have 50 booths by November 1. Next payment is due November 17th

    Eddie and Julio haven’t been making as much headway as they thought. Even if everyone that has committed pays us, we only have 25-30 booth, which is too few; this would only use half the space so it would look empty.

    We’ve decided to cancel Aquarimania.

    OPEN DISCUSSION: Got Corals wanted to know if we were interested in helping with a fundraiser down south. BoD decided it’s too far south and no bandwidth to take it on.

    Meeting called to order: 7:54 PM

    Meeting Attendees: Renee Steinman, Eddie Steinman, Lulio Vasquez, Eddie Soler, Lourdes Vasquez, Allen Strachan, Gayle Velazquez, Dave Thompson, Bobby (by phone for 15 minutes)

    APPROVAL OF MAY MINUTES – Approved by Eddie Steinman, seconded by Gayle

    APPROVAL OF LAST CONFERENCE CALL MINUTES – Gayle will send out again, minutes will be approved at the next meeting

    MEMBERSHIP – Membership has been great – no issues – about 165 members

    • Lourdes will verify that the card printer software has the ability to print barcodes
    • Lourdes will find out what it might take to get barcode readers to be able to track who is coming to meetings
    • We will start doing a sign-in sheet at each meeting – just a piece of paper / excel sheet with a name and zip code

    NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Elections are in November. Bobby should chair it. 2 BOD members, 1 non-BOD member.

    HOLIDAY PARTY:

    • Lourdes will email the BOD by the end of the week with info about having the holiday party at her club house.
    • Renee will call Dave and Busters to find out about having a holiday party there
    • Eddie Soler will talk to Matt Tindall to find out about having the party at the Davie Womens Club

    OCTOBER/NOVEMBER EVENT (SHOW)

    EVENTS (FIELD TRIPS) – November Poker run – Bobby votes no bus – everyone should drive, but we should encourage carpooling

    • Eddie Soler will get 5 stores (Exotic , Oceanview, ReefBox, Aquariumart, ReefTop*, House of Fins, VIP, Strictly Fish), everyone will drive themselves
    • November 21st

    SCHOOL PROJECTS – Dr Thompson did an excellent job with iMater

    • Eddie Soler suggests BOD pay up to $125 for water change for the school from Charlie
    • Renee Steinman seconds
    • Dave will work it out with Charlie, in case Charlie needs to bill the club vs Dave needs to give him a check

    CONTESTS – started chalice grow contest with about 10 people, only about 3 people left. Eddie Soler and Dave will decide the winners. Winner gets all entrance fees (about $200 in gift cards to a store possibly?)

    WEB SITE:

    IDEA: PAR METER? Rent it out to our members as a service, get a deposit, in case they lose it, break it, etc. deposit gets returned if member returns par meter.

    • Voted no because it could be broken and liability issues

    OPEN DISCUSSION:

    • Renee says no Saturday meetings – we should keep meetings on the first Tuesdays
    • We should have meetings every month – 7:30 – 9
      • Everyone approves the meetings, no one opposed.
    • November 3rd meeting at Dave Thompson’s house – show up at 7. Eat until 7:30. Finish eating at 7:30. Meeting ends at 9PM and he will start kicking people out. Renee will order the food and pick it up on the way to Dave’s house.

    Aquarimania Committee Report: lots of interest for the show, but no real commitments

    Charlie Gregory agreed that he would do a touch tank.

    Marco Rocks suggested doing an aquascaping contest

    Show costs $10k to rent + $5k in rooms – booths are $200 each. We need about 75 booths to break even. We are currently at 28 booths.

    We need to have 50 booths by November 1. Next payment is due November 17th
